By 2050, Kinshasa, the capitol of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will be the most populated city in Africa with an estimated 35 residents, the fourth most populated in the world. Kinshasa continues to experience rapid city expansion with informal settlements due to the exponential population increase. Due to this rapid expansion, many residents live without access to infrastructure, mainly power. This project aims to explore methods to meet the future demand of electricity access for the future 35 million residents of Kinshasa.
